I do not know why

I do not know why
I do not know when
but my heart needs to be at peace
it beats like a normal one
I know it loves like a normal one
but it seems that it has broken beyond repair
the bits spread throughout my chest
hoping to find the glue that will make it whole again

I do not know why
I do not know when it was broken
into such tiny pieces

They tell me God will mend it
They tell me I need to mend it myself
but I do not know how
All I know is that
what is, is what it is

I do not know why
I do not know when
but peace will be someday

I believe a poem can change your life forever. I know many poems I read as a child made a difference in my life. I learned to believe in me. My senses started living along side me. My appreciation for nature and life increased by one hundred percent. As a result I paint, love photography, and I listen and try to pay attention a little bit more to everything around me. I also became a teacher to honor all those teachers who set me straight about life and learning.
