I let my dream go
find someone
that would commit
to it with a full heart

It did not think twice
about leaving me
But I am not surprised

I never introduced it to myself
I did not see its potential
I was not in the present

But a new dream is brewing now
it’s in my soul
sweet java
with nine lives
in the now

I can’t let go
of this one
its breath is mine
its heartbeat is mine
I cannot let go
this time
