I Am Strong

This has been my mantra lately

I do not really know how strong I am

I want to be as strong as the oak tree

where squirrels climb

and somehow know the tree will hold

 

I want to be as strong as the sea

I think about all the ships

that it carries to different destinations

 

I want to be strong like the mountain

everyone wants to climb

to see the world below.

 

I am strong like my ancestors

the women who laid the foundation

for me to reach my dreams

Hey, I am strong!

I am strong!

I am strong!!
