A Little Boy Goes

In man’s search for meaning

a little boy goes

hoping that someday he

will find his very own

Soon finding he is not alone.

His dream is for someday

to reach a star

not at all concerned

about how high or far

asking endless questions about

who, what and why?

He mostly wants to know

why we all must die.

In man’s search for meaning

a little boy goes

hoping that someday he

will find his very own

All he longs for is to be free

and that world peace

is our destiny.

Quote: Food For Thought

“A generous and elevated mind is distinguished by nothing more certainly than an eminent degree of curiosity.”   Samuel Johnson

She Learns Everyday

Today she learned

why the sun shines so much

then she touched a daffodil.

Her lively sense of curiosity

The wondering of why

will germinate seeds

filled with questions

about what is eternity

and as millions before

see how apples fall

only a few like Newton

asked why

She will never shy

from the curious

child within

How marvelous to be just three

and so full of curiosity.

Someone discovered their footsie today

Someone discovered their footsie today

How great there’s one more thing

with which to play

Five fat toes

That stretch and wiggle

Must have been funny to see for the first time

Cause all she could do was giggle.

I watched her fascination grow

As she tried to touch her chubby big toe

And when I  sang, “this little piggy.”

She looked at me  as if to say,

” Oh Abuela, that song is so silly.”

Today’s Inspiration

Today’s inspiration

is a little boy named Nicholas

He always has a smile for me

His eyes ask quietly.

When I read him a story

he listens  carefully.

He’s only eleven months old

seems to know a good story

when it’s told

His eyes are big and brown

and laugh on their own

Nicholas is a happy baby and does not know about a frown

This is why he is my inspiration

All his world is fascination

I wonder what he does with his imagination.

I try to look at things through his eyes

because his small world is all surprise.
