What Will I Flaunt Today?

What Will I Flaunt Today?

I think I’ll flaunt my old 1929 Royal standard typewriter

I wanted to type this post on my beautiful black upright

but then, I would have to scan the page

and upload it on to my computer

and post it as media or picture to insert.

But then you may not be able to read the post.

Because sometimes the type is a little light.

However, I cannot describe the joy I feel

when I plunk down my fingers

on the keys

that make that unique snapping sound.

 

and the bell rings when the carriage returns

to let me know

There is something to flaunt about .

I believe a poem can change your life forever. I know many poems I read as a child made a difference in my life. I learned to believe in me. My senses started living along side me. My appreciation for nature and life increased by one hundred percent. As a result I paint, love photography, and I listen and try to pay attention a little bit more to everything around me. I also became a teacher to honor all those teachers who set me straight about life and learning.

      I searched all over for this typewriter. My dad had one just like it. He adored his typewriter but it was stolen in a break in right after he passed away. So it means a lot to me to have one just like the one he had.

        I had my Dad’s old Smith Corona all through college. Vintage probably 40’s. Served me well until IBM came out with that newfangled one with the type on a ball that moved about!
