More or less a week from today

More or less a week from today

We will all watch my daughter walk down the aisle

to join her soul mate in matrimony

Behind her will be the memory of a little girl

who frolicked about as her head full of curls

covered her face as if to play hide n’ seek

with her darling doting dad.

And although there is no reason to be sad

tears will definitely roll down his face

amazed at the site of her amazing grace.

God only knows how much we love her.

She and her brother

have been the greatest loves of our life.

Big brother will help him usher her

down the aisle

Neither will feel the need to rush her

to take those final steps into a brand new life.

Awaiting her will be

her handsome groom

wearing the greatest smile

you will ever see

as his wife to be

slowly approaches to be united forever

everyone will be so excited

as the violinist plays their favorite song

all of us will sing along together

the refrain everyone for some reason seems to remember:

“Though I know I’ll never lose affection
for people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
in my life I love you more”

*Dedicated to my beautiful daughter whom we adore.
