A hard Journey

Our collective journey right now is a difficult one. Who do we believe? What are the hard truths we will have to face? Will we see more deaths because of the COVID-19 pandemic? Will our children safe in school? Will there be an effective and safe vaccine we can trust? Will our elections be tampered with by foreign enemies or even by our own home grown terrorists? Because chaos begets chaos and because hate begets hate and because uncertainty is a type of terrorism, we must unite to seek the truth. We cannot continue to allow anyone to divide us. We must unbury the American values we cherished so much. What happened to how we deplored big brother watching us, political coups, injustice, bigotry and leaders who lied to their people? Our country lived by values. We cherished our constitutional rights, our civil rights and liberties. What has happened to us? We were not perfect. But we knew about basic decency. We always knew what was the right thing to do for the good of us all. We the People must be the force of goodness, empathy, and compassion. We are all exhausted. We need positive energy to carry on our most valued right. The right to vote. These last few days I feel like I am in a labyrinth and here with the help of Pixabay I have tried to illustrate my poem.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

66 DAYS 15 HOURS 41 MINUTES – To be Precise

Fact checkers need to go out, research and be precise;

The urgency of now cannot be over emphasized.

We have now listened to the two major sides

and their multiple points of view.

Some things I heard frankly were not all that new.

This is why now we need some truthful and great sleuths on the ground.

Reputable and true journalists must report soon what they have found.

I will list for you the relevant issues and I hope I am concise.

Shifting blame, name calling, and sheer partisanship will no longer suffice.

I implore you to read and listen for accuracy, and meticulous reporting.

There are only 66 days left to decide who you will be supporting.

Questions should be similar to these and more:

How many billions did the USA actually receive from other countries?

What finally happened to the second stimulus bill?

With all the billions supposedly attained, why are they bickering over how much and when?

Does everyone understand we are in a recession?

Will the COVID-19 Vaccine be safe for human beings?

Has testing for COVID-19 truly slowed down?

What the real time numbers of deaths and infections?

Are medicaid and medicare at risk?

How are the senators and congressmen and women voting on the most important issues?

Will the USPS be ready to deliver mail in ballots?

How are all social media platforms protecting our elections?

I can think of so many more things that need to checked.

I hope you have questions to add to this list.

I am tired of the rethortic and misinformation.

I am tired of some journalists not asking the right questions?

I am tired of the ranting and complaining.

If you are tired too then you know what I am saying.

I am a mother and grandmother first as you may have guessed;

looking out for the future of my family and friends.

but most of all for We the People of these United States.

On Breathing

Image by ju Irun from Pixabay

Take a deep breath with me

Visualize a brand new world

free of hatred and craziness

no more absurd

only love and peace conserved.

Take a deep breath with me

close your eyes

there is so much beauty to see

even a raindrop seems magical

learn to watch for the miracles.

Let your goal be to be free.

Take a deep breath with me

look inside your soul

pure love will take control.

Take a deep breath with me

I am sure you will agree

that with every breath you take

you will find that all heartbreak

will disappear

and fears will be no longer

and you will be much stronger.

  • I believe that we all need to learn to breathe intently and mindfully in order to free ourselves from pain and anxiety and to reach calmness. During this time of social distancing, isolation and for some of us deep sorrow, it is imperative to keep the faith and to maintain our immune system stronger than ever. Below is a link to a video on how to take deep cleansing breaths by Dr. Andrew Weil. I have passed on this video to many of my family members and friends. A fun way to keep connected is to use the Zoom app and do the exercises with a group of friends. Teach your children how to do the breathing exercises. Please let me know about your experiences. In the meantime, stay safe.

Poetry Challenge Response – Coping

My days, these days, always begin with prayer.

Nothing scripted or too profound,

only from my heart and without despair.

I try to speak succinctly, clearly and with calm

to the almighty universe and any God who will listen.

Sometimes I sneak in a proposition,

with the hope that there is no repetition,

of the mistakes we made in the past.

I ask for healing for all over the world

But sometimes I can only tell of my unique wows,

But the realist in me knows,

No one on this earth owns the controls.

I ask for patience,

I ask for peace,

I pray to soon be released,

from the prisons of fear and uncertainty,

I envision a new earth;

we are all on common ground.

We must all work together.

And allow only hope and love to surround.

I write a poem to help me cope.

And look for poems that fill me with hope.

*Please stay safe my fellow bloggers and friends. God bless America!

A New Poetry Challenge – Coping

We are all coping or trying very hard to cope with the situation at hand. Write a poem about how you are coping. I think it is so important to share our thoughts, fears, and anxieties with others. But we should offer uplifting thoughts or share good strategies for coping. Reading a poem and writing helps me cope. Gratitude also helps. Thank someone who is out there risking their life one way or another to keep us safe, fed and cared for.

Please post your poem and use the #CopingamI and leave a copy or feedback in the comments section. I will share my poem by the end of this week which is the deadline for this challenge. Thanks. Be safe. Help keep others safe. We are in this together.
