A million leaves
gather; each unique matter.
They know their oneness.

A million leaves
gather; each unique matter.
They know their oneness.
The moment is now;
we all need thoughts of love.
Feel your heart beat in your chest;
my heart beats as well.
Connect to me as you breathe in;
I too am breathing right now.
How truly rich we are,
when we shift our collective fears
to the miracle that is love and peace.
We all need thoughts of love.
All we need to do is make it a priority.
We must learn to live from within
With faith we are never alone
It gives us the inner serenity
especially when we grow old
Be aware of God’s presence within
Like a lighthouse guides the ships at sea
Let your inner light and Wisdom
Guide you through the rough currents that be
Inside of us is the Architect
of all that is our external world
all that is what is and truth
The plan is clear and perfectly designed
Listen inwardly
For every point and measure is defined
No one can alter it
It is the creation of yourself
A work of art
God made us with a purpose in mind
You were created on purpose
for a specific time
Yes, we must learn to live from within
Take time to love
Take time to pray
Take time to nourish your soul
Become the masterpiece
You are meant to be
After watching such terrifying images of the destruction caused by the fires on the west coast of the USA, I tried to put myself in the place of the victims and simply start shaking at the thought. It saddened me so much to hear about the number of deaths including a young child. I believe that climate change is the ultimate culprit for these calamities.
I wonder if we will be able to reverse the damage so far. Three states are suffering from the fires and who knows how many people will end up with serious respiratory illnesses in the weeks to come. Louisiana is soon facing yet another possible hurricane. Puerto Rico has to deal with the sand storms that come from the Sahara. You have to see it to believe that so much soot can accumulate within just a few days. The island has also experienced several earthquakes as have so many other places.
We can only hope that science will figure out what needs to be done. We know what we can do to help the situation. During the pandemic shut down, many cities were observing how the environment seemed cleaner. Obviously, there were less cars on the roads and therefore less pollution. It simply makes sense the more we work together the better the results. Sometimes it takes something like a pandemic to help us see reality.
Racial tensions augmented during these last few months. All races came together to stand up for racial justice. I recently reread a copy of James Baldwin’s The Fire Next Time. I had underlined these quotes so many years ago when I first read his work and which still resonates today.
“Life is tragic simply because the earth turns and the sun inexorably rises and sets, and one day, for each of us, the sun will go down for the last, last time. Perhaps the whole root of our trouble, the human trouble, is that we will sacrifice all the beauty of our lives, will imprison ourselves in totems, taboos, crosses, blood sacrifices, steeples, mosques, races, armies, flags, nations, in order to deny the fact of death, the only fact we have. It seems to me that one ought to rejoice in the fact of death–ought to decide, indeed, to earn one’s death by confronting with passion the conundrum of life. One is responsible for life: It is the small beacon in that terrifying darkness from which we come and to which we shall return.”
“And if the word integration means anything, this is what it means: that we, with love, shall force our brothers to see themselves as they are, to cease fleeing from reality and begin to change it.”
― James Baldwin
Life only happens once. And for those who believe we reincarnate it still happens one life at a time and within a specific time. I hope and believe that we can make life better for each other when we decide to accept that each of us is deserving of a good life, a healthy existence, a peaceful coexistence. I still hope that we awaken to the essence of our oneness. Are you ready?
Somehow a virus
makes us more aware we are
one and all for one
A strong tree knows
its branches are weak
We share its destiny now
My eternal wish is for peace on earth;
Today many of us are celebrating
the birth of Christ, or
the Jewish festival of re-dedication, also known as the Festival of Lights,
or preparing for Kwanza.
Celebrating life in general is what we all have in common:
Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, baptisms,
Bar mitzvahs, Bat mitzvahs, retirements, accomplishments of all kinds,
and even honoring those who have passed is worth a celebration of life.
So I don’t get why we cannot concentrate
our efforts on becoming a part of each other
no matter what you believe in,
the synchronicity is evident.
When we born our hearts beat in unison.
We are all amazed at life’s wonders;
when we observe a magnificent sunrise,
or sunset, a waterfall, a butterfly or
a hummingbird hovering over a red rose.
We all love to be loved, hugged, kissed,
and snuggled by our mothers.
We all want to belong and be accepted for who we are.
I mean, is this not the truth?
Our humanity is unique.
We love, we even hate some of the same things.
Let us remember why we celebrate today most especially.
Let us be enlightened.
Let us be united.
Let us reach out to someone who may need a smile
or a simple and sincere greeting today.
We are all born into this world for a reason.
Let us all reflect on what that reason and purpose might be.
2020 begins a new decade and presents
a new opportunity for us to choose peace
instead of war, all wars, any war no matter how far,
even the wars that are embedded deep in our souls.
Let us choose love over hate and bigotry,
Let us choose gaining knowledge
about what makes us different over
ignorance and indifference.
Peace is not only a season or a few dates on the calender
but it is and should a way of life!
God bless you all!
Happy holidays!!
If you have no peace
these days, you are not alone
Let us stand as one.
“Keep your faith in all beautiful things. In the sun when it is hidden. In the spring when it is gone.” – Roy Rolfe Gilson
We are who we love and no one can change that.
We are a part of their souls;
We met somewhere in time;
And the memory remained.
We are who we love and no one can change that.
Our hearts knew each other before
we became earthly.
The awareness was purposeful.
The love was simply too great.
It could be said,
It was fate.
We are who we love and no one can change that.
Be glad who you are.
Love had all to do with it.
We are who we love and no one can change that.
“A little knowledge that acts is worth infinitely more than knowledge that is Idle.” -Kahlil Gibran
Way too many of us have acted on the knowledge we have acquired in our lives. But many of us are as idle as an old Jalopy. The world is being tortured emotionally with so many threats. It seems that even Mother nature insists on teaching us some valuable lessons about caring and loving each other. It seems that it is only when she decides to come storming in to shake us up that we respond and act with kindness and selflessness.
Many people are facing a new weather threat with more hurricanes traveling the same path of Hurricane Irma. God help those small helpless islands and the people already devastated.
It seems to me that we have collectively acquired sufficient knowledge about the atmosphere and weather patterns to help people protect themselves better. We know that we need to protect the environment more as individuals, thus acting on the “little knowledge” we have to help avoid infinite repercussions.
“The universe is transformation. Our life is what out thoughts make it.”- Marcus Aurelius was a Roman emperor and philosopher in 121-180 AD. His thought was full of knowledge and insight. Yet, we continue to toss negatively around like the hurricane does when it attacks full speed. We are the universe. We are what our thoughts make us.
I hope our thoughts can somehow sync with each other to make our world a better place; I hope we can sync our positive ideas because they can no longer be idle. For the greater good our “little knowledge” must grow into a harvest infinitely. Let’s do it.
The following is another poem inspired by my fellow bloggers. Thanks for your beautiful posts. The attributions follow. Check out their beautiful work.
All is prayer
When thoughts are still
A rainbow of hope
Fills the sky
And I
Pray
All is prayer
And I am here
To tell you
We are one
All is prayer
Who am I but a body in time,
I ask the universe for love
I am a woman, an artist, a mother, a worker,
But I want to be like water
Flowing calming
And sometimes still
All is prayer
Let it be what will

Isn’t it so clear
Nature knows the connection
Why can’t we see it?
I join the world in mourning the senseless deaths of so many in Paris, France yesterday. If we truly understand that we are interconnected in every way then we will heal together but we must not allow violence and terrorism to win. Vive La France!
As most people here in the Tri-State area, we have seen the presentations and masses pronounced by Pope Francis of the the Holy Seas and many of us have been deeply touched by his message of Love and Peace. This is my poem to honor his visit. I also tried painting his friendly face with all due respect.
Skies of crystal blue prevailed today
As the Pope of Hope
Like Jesus did walked among us
Even for those who were not too close
deep emotions did not fail
to energize and fill all hearts
with glory and hopeful dreams
As he waved to thousands
On what now will be the Holy urban trail
Worshipers screamed,
called out his name,
and cried sweet tears
for this Pope of the People
had washed away their fears.
For many today
Life will not be the same
History records impatiently
The sounds and sights today
Pope Francis of the Holy Sea
Prays for you and me and
For even the non-believer
All he wants is Peace to be a reality.
He asked us all to restore our hope
To resolve our differences with respect
For we must live as one
He asked us all to educate the young.
Future generations
must learn the lessons well;
To build our oneness
and fraternal love,
To restore a Nation of Freedom for all
This is our divine call.
He said to Remember the Golden Rule.
Our faces may be different yes
But our hearts beat all the same
Some filled with passion and compassion
Love can only be our gain.
Thank you Pope Francisco of the Holy Sea
for your humble presence and
your words of inspiration.
With Gratitude and Remembrance
I think we will see clearly now,
And forever more.
No more smog or clouds
to block our vision and sincere affirmations
For deep down in our hearts
We know this to be true
United we stand
and in God We Trust.
God bless America
and Pope Francis,
God bless you too.
I listened to the sounds of silence
All seemed so perfect and clear
The flowers whispered a secret
for only me to hear.
