If you are listening

If you are listening

to the absurdities of our times

your heart must be be ready

to explode with the torment it brings.

I for one no longer

want to sing

or laugh out loud

because the guilt is too profound.

So many have passed;

so many suffering,

so much uncertainty.

We need to look seriously at

not only where we fell and failed,

but where we slipped and let go

of our collective conscience.

The oneness that we are

can allow us to go far.

We cannot disregard the deep scars

that have been created.

Future generations will not be kind

when they realize

we left so many behind;

and waived our rights,

because we were afraid to stand up

for the good of all the people.

Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno!

The storm of tears

will flood our towns

and will drown our dreams.

Is it too late for redemption?

Will our sins be commuted?

Will our grandchildren pardon us,

for neglecting to see the truth?

To Thine Own Self Be True.

If you are and have been listening,

please know that we must also

start questioning.

We cannot allow us to get used to the dark.

Together

we must pave the way

and make sure we shine

so that the truth

is once again revealed.

No excuses!

No excuses!

I HATE FAILURE!

Failure to achieve something in life can be devastating sometimes. I was thinking about failure. There are some things that we cannot help of course. Sometimes failure is inevitable. We have little control over nature; often it seems like it needs to fail us or disappoint us. We may not understand how someone can deceive and fail us when we most need support and compassion. As human beings we fail each other all the time. We fail our children many times. We fail to love each other unconditionally. We fail to forgive. We fail to open our hearts. We fail to think before we speak and hurt someone deeply. We fail to keep the peace.

The following is a poem I wrote about failure. I wrote it soon after my sister passed away from heart failure.

I Hate Failure!

The baby steps we made

toward peace

are now giant footprints

leading to mass destruction.

I Hate Failure!

CHILDREN

DIE

FROM

HUNGER,

STILL!

WHY?

We do not do more to help.

I Hate Failure!

We do not do enough,

to do enough,

to snuff out

HATE,

   BIGOTRY,

and all the BAD stuff there is to snuff.

Yet we know it’s up to us.

I Hate Failure!

The moon

forgot

to dance the rumba last night.

Someone forgot

to make her chuckle

one last time.

The stars failed to show up

when she made her last wish.

I          Hate          Failure!

She never knew

how precious she was

to all of us.

 I Hate Failure!

I Hate Failure!

I Hate Failure!

I Hate Failure

Failure to achieve something meaningful in life can be devastating sometimes. I was thinking about failure today. There are circumstances in life that may get in the way of our success. Sometimes failure is inevitable. But why?

We have little control over nature; often it seems like it needs to fail us or disappoint us in order for us to appreciate it as a gift from God. We have failed at preserving our natural resources. That is real failure because it will have repercussions on future generations.

We may not understand how someone can deceive and fail us when we most need support and compassion. As human beings we fail each other all the time. We fail our children many times by expecting less from them. We fail to love each other unconditionally and to develop compassion. We fail to forgive. We fail to open our hearts. We fail to think before we speak and hurt someone deeply. We fail to keep the peace.

The following is about failure. I wrote it soon after my sister passed away from heart failure. It seemed that everything was failing all at once.

I Hate Failure!

The baby steps we made

toward peace yesterday

are now giant footprints

leading to mass destruction.

I Hate Failure!

CHILDREN

DIE

FROM

HUNGER,

STILL.

We could do more to help you know.

We don’t though. Why not?

I Hate Failure!

We do not do enough,

to do enough,

to snuff out

HATE,

BIGOTRY,

and all the BAD stuff there is to snuff.

We know it’s up to us.

It is our job to make peace

and to teach our children

to accept our differences and respect

diversity. But we don’t. Why not?

I Hate Failure!

The moon

forgot

to dance the rumba last night

to make her chuckle

one last time.

The stars failed to show up

when she made her last wish.

No one was there to embrace her

and whisper goodbye.

I Hate Failure!

She never knew

how precious she was

to all of us. I hope she knows it now somehow.

I Hate Failure!

I Hate Failure!

I Hate Failure!

Dificil

why does her heart collide

with her own unhappiness?

the signs say slow down please

you have reached

the intersection

of love and friendship.

But she doesn’t know sincere

or trust

only fear of failure

and rejection

no intention

is good enough

she believes that only stuff

like fancy cars and status

and grandiose titles

is the way

to get someone to stay

close enough to really see her soul.

Do you have someone who is DIFICIL?
