Poemattic: Poetry and Art for the Soul

Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Mexico are under siege after the destruction that has devastated entire cities and towns. My heart aches.  I try to Raise the Vibe but it gets harder each time I hear the sad consequences of these numerous storms and earthquakes. Please help me Raise the Vibe for these people. I feel helpless and incompetent. They need engineers, rescue experts, doctors, paramedics and over all water and food. Since this tragedy all I do is doodle and write. Please help me Raise the Vibe. In the meantime, here is what I worked on today as I thought about some family members I have yet to hear from.  This gif represents to me the chaos caused by these natural disasters.

My faith is deep

but slowly

it slips away

along with the hopes

of some people

hit by disaster

 

I ask myself why

so much devastation

it seems catastrophe comes

back to back

the forces greater each time

Nature fighting back

like a defeated heavy weight boxer

comes back sometimes to knock out opponents

with great fury and resolve

Are we the enemy?

Listen!

I guess we need to pay more attention.

Why?

Because we need to survive.
