Good Day Sunshine

“The sun proceeds unmoved

To measure off another day

For an approving God.”

– Emily Dickinson

Good Day Sunshine

So many have had something to say about you

whether you were on the rise in the morning

or falling into deep slumber in the evening

I like you best at morn

when you so well adorn

the sky and make me want to sigh.

A Poem of Titles

On the Road

to Amazing Grace

The Sunflower

reminds me that

Life is a Miracle

Sometimes,

The Spirit Catches You

and You Fall Down

But we all have

Brothers and Keepers

to lift us back up.

Why I Write

Mighty Rocks

A voice screaming inside me
dares not speak to me out loud
Instead, it gently penetrates my pen
and then
each thought connects to reality
perhaps my own
unknown to me
some words fall and crash into the rocks
and others flow smoothly insurmountable
one by one
they intercept the spirit, the soul
my cup runneth over
A deafening silence is heard
hyperbola succumb on a soft white sheet
and as is usual
the unborn poem gets folded away
in my pocket
until tomorrow.
